The Chinese Art Book (Print ISBN 978-0714865751) presents 300 artworks from China created between 40th century BC and now. Luped picture research sourced images of all pre-revolution artworks from agencies, museums and galleries around the world.
The authors selected items from across the spectrum of the visual arts, from a Hongshan Neolithic Jade pendant to contemporary video installations and performance art.
The book displays works in a non-chronological order, juxtaposing the old with the new. A fully illustrated time line showing how each fits within Chinese History and Dynasties; as well as key moments in world and art history.
